My husband Todd and I went canoeing after work today. Todd borrowed Art's boat and paddles and we put the boat in very close to our house. We canoed for about an hour down White Oak Creek and Hanging Moss Creek. We were never in the 'wilderness' - we were near the back sides of houses and schools the whole way.

Turning Angel
I recently finished reading Greg Isles' Turning Angel. I give it an "S" for salacious and sometimes stomach-turning, but then again, I did read it to the end.

Girls, Christmas 05
Taken at Laura's house during Christmas 2005, this is a recent photo of all the Hey Guy girls. We are all graduates of the University of Southern Mississippi, and in total we're 1 lawyer, 2 doctors, 1 accountant, 1 personal trainer, 2 marketing/pr types and 1 CPA-turned-homemaker. Back row is Jennifer, Beverly, Barbara, Julie, Laura. Front row is Kristen, Vanessa and Stacey.

Privacy
I'm worried about invading anyone's privacy on this blog, so I am just sticking with first names. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject. Specifically, I'm thinking of a Wall Street Journal article I read recently called 'My Cute Little Blog Got Me Fired' or something like that.

Lies Told by Red Bar
The Gang visited the Red Bar in Grayden Beach FL over the weekend. Generally they are full of themselves although the food was great. This is a cash only business so who knows what shenanigans they're up to. Pictured are, from left: Sandon S, Stacey K, Diane S, Beverly F, Julie D and Jimmy D.
Here are the top five lies told by the staff of the Red Bar that night.
(1) Your table will be ready in one hour. (It was more like 1 hour 40 minutes.)
(2) This is sweet tea. (It wasn't. It was water; just ask Jimmy.)
(3) You can have pink lemonade with vodka, but you can't have regular pink lemonade without vodka. (I can't make sense of that one.)
(4) During 'the season' you should come at 4:30 p.m. to avoid the normal 3-hour wait. (Surely people aren't dumb enough to wait 3 hours for a table, no matter how good the food.)
(5) We serve crab cakes on Friday and Saturday nights. (However, if you finally get to order at 9 p.m. like we did, they will almost certainly be out of crab cakes.)
